Travel Photography: Telling the World's Story

There is no craft more highly coveted than that of Travel Photographer.  However, what sets a great travel photo apart from the rest is the ability to integrate the nuance details of a time and a place into a cohesive narrative.  Capturing the uniqueness of a culture while revealing a common humanity, representing the distinctness of a foreign place and expressing with great intimacy the visceral experience of being immersed in another world, these are the ingredients of great travel photography, taking the viewer beyond the frame and transporting them into another world.

NYCFotoWorks is hosting a juried show competition aimed at celebrating great travel photography.  Juried by some of the best professionals of the photo industry, this juried show will culminate in an exhibition of the top 60 images, as chosen by the jurors, to be displayed at the Calumet Gallery in Chelsea Manhattan.

NYCFotoWorks will host an opening celebrating these winning artists, bringing many editors, creative directors, art buyers, gallerists and photo agents together to view the winning images.  This show is open to both professional and amateur photographers.
