How does the event work?
- Artists choose how many meetings they would like to have at the event (see Packages).
- Weeks before the event, artists fill out requests lists of who they would like to meet from the list of attending reviewers.
- Requests are granted on a first-come-first-serve basis based upon when an artists purchases their attendance package. The sooner you sign up, the better your chances of meeting with your top choices.
What are the meetings like?
- Each meeting is 1-on-1.
- Just you and the reviewer at a round top table in a large studio space with other meetings
- taking place simultaneously. Meetings last approximately 15 mins.
Schedule of the event:
- Your meetings can potentially be scheduled on any/ all three days of the event during the following sessions:
10 am - 1 pm 2 pm - 5 pm 6 pm - 9 pm
Schedules are based on reviewer availability only. Your scheduled is determined based solely on who you choose to meet and when they are able to attend.
Am I guaranteed to meet with my requested reviewers?
- We've worked to create the most fair and effective algorithm possible to determine the distribution of meetings. Here is how it works:
- Imagine you're part of a very large card game. Based upon when you purchase your package, that's the place you are sitting at the table. As the "dealer" goes through and distributes meetings, those that sign up earlier are dealt first. However, meetings are distrbuted all the way through the field of artists for each round. Thus, the first person to sign up is not given their second meeting until the last person has recieved their first.
How do the requests lists work?
- Prior to the event, artists log in to a system where they are able to choose
- the reviewers they would like to meet with. Their top choice will be weighted more heavily than their second choice, etc.
